Pregue o Evangelho - Paul Washer

Pregue o Evangelho - Paul Washer [Music] [Applause] thank you we will start again in Romans chapter one and let's read again verses 14 through 17. even though I mean.

Pregue o Evangelho - Paul Washer

Is let's go the Lord in prayer once again we come before you dear Lord and we ask for your help please use your word in the heart of your people.

Give us Clarity and boldness of speech is and give ears that people might hear in Jesus name amen Ami now if we look in verse 14 again Paul says I'm under obligation both to Greeks and The Barbarians both to the wise and to the foolish apologies.

You know the Gentile world was a very difficult place it was full of a lot of very very bad people when you look at the Gentile world before the gospel entered into it it was a nightmare it was a moral uh sewer era um there's there's simply no way to exaggerate how horrific it truly was.

But Paul had a burden for these people um knew that the only thing that could change them was the gospels now let's just talk about that for a moment as Christians we need to take Holiness very seriously we need to seek to submit everything in our lives to scripture.

Is but we live in a fallen world and we're not going to change that World by getting them to submit to the same rules that we have in our life something must happen to them first they must be transformed through the preaching of the Gospel it is sometimes I hear Street Preachers.

They put their videos on on the internet they're standing at a university and girls are walking by that are not dressed in a way appropriate way yes and what are the preachers doing they're attacking the girls it is and attacking the way they dress is that going to do anything it is no oh.

No what do those girls need they yes they need to be told about Sin seeing it is a girl to dress like a Puritan woman and she's still going to go to hell myself there are a lot of people more moral than us that are in hell amutus this is not about changing morality.

It's about changing the heart through the preaching of the gospel and then the gospel begins to change a person and we need to be very careful when we're out in the world that we don't forget what we were like before or Jesus came into our lives some of us were monsters but we have been Justified.

We have been Sanctified and it was through the gospel so when we go out into the world we must never forget that the gospel is good news good news it is true we must talk about Sin but we must talk about it with love we must run to the gospel of Christ.

If you're truly filled with the Holy Spirit you are going to love people and you're going to look for ways to love them and look for ways to share the gospel with them I remember a few years ago I was sitting in a cafe with three other theologians and a young girl came to wait on us.

And she had a little t-shirt on yeah well one of her arms from here you know what they were doing it thinking of her as a person it is they weren't thinking of her as a person made in the image of God it is they were dehumanizing her it is so she came up she said would you like.

Coffee and I said yes I would yeah but first

What's the deal with all the tattoos foreign she said right here or being a key is the first Mountain that I ever climbed and then this is another Mountain here yeah and for the next 10 minutes she went down her arm explaining to me her mountains.

Now I'm not in agreement with someone getting tattoos all over their body but she's a human being she was made in the image of God she needs the good news of the Gospel you need someone caring about her she didn't need me ripping her arm off she needed me telling her about Jesus Christ.

And then after she comes to know Jesus as I teach her the word um she may never lose those tattoos but she'll become a woman of God foreign it was dangerous the things that they practiced openly I can't even share here is but what was Paul's answer my.

Judaism was it the law it was the Gospel of Jesus Christ foreign we need to be full of the gospels and we need to see that that is our debt is we need to preach the gospel we need to live the gospel take every opportunity to live the gospel.

There's a man by the name of Norman Wakefield Norman Whitfield he taught me something one time it was amazing foreign and all the preachers know this this is true if you've been out preaching for a week I mean fighting the devil preaching five times a day declaring war on Hell declaration and you come home.

You're tired and you come to the front door of your house you know what you're expecting you're expecting your wife to open the door and say come in o man of God and throw flowers on you and prepare your favorite meals and then puts you to bed that's not what happens.

When you come home it almost always happens this way is your wife opens the door she's got one kid around the neck like this she's got the other kid by a leg like this she says it's about time you got home yeah take care of your kids at that moment.

What does your flesh want to do I can't even tell you what my flesh wants to do but what's happening I have an opportunity to obey Ephesians 5. I have the opportunity to wash my wife in The Gospel.

I have the opportunity to show her how Grace responds by taking the children so they can breathe again to greet my wife to go in and take do whatever I have to enter now it's also with regard to my wife every time we're in a situation that is conflictive.

We have the opportunity to show them what the gospel is

To show them what the gospel looks like and I have to tell you this many times even now and I have to repent and I have to ask my wife or my children to forgive me and I realized I just missed a wonderful opportunity.

Foreign to show them the gospel one time you know in the United States we have to take our car once a year and get it inspected so I prayed I said Lord I really want to you know show you to these mechanics and realized that they had charged me for several things.

Some of them they didn't even do and they didn't inspect my car and they knew it so when I got home I prayed and I turned around back to the gas station and when they saw me coming they had been caught it is they expected me to get out and tear them to Pieces.

But I said gentlemen myself thank you for the work that you did on my car but there are some things I think that you may have missed I know it's easy to do and I just went down through the things I said I greatly appreciate the time you've spent with me is it all right if I wait while you fix this.

They were ashamed I mean they couldn't believe it it is so I'm able to share Christ I'm able to live for Christ to show these men the gospel I get in my car all totally satisfied I have served the Lord and I'm driving back home and all of a sudden he sir all of a sudden.

[Music] it was like the Lord just hit me in the heart you hypocrite you hypocrites those ungodly men ripped you off and you acted like my son is but my daughter to whom you're married.

She'll do something wrong foreign do you see what I'm saying it's not just looking like Christ outside of the house foreign people always ask me around the world how can we pray for you I said pray that I love my wife like Christ loved the church.

Why that Perkins because if I can act like Jesus with the person closest to me then I can act like Jesus everywhere now men and women you have to take this serious and when you failure you can't ignore it got to ask for forgiveness when you're not demonstrating the gospel.

Says see it's easy to keep rules what's difficult is to love to truly love oh that's hard let's go on sir verse 15 verse Kinsey so for my part I'm eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.

Paul says as for me I want to preach the gospel to you and I'm eager to do it listen to me also especially some of you young guys who want to go in the ministry we got all kinds of ministers doing all kinds of things doing things God never commanded.

Wasting their time doing what is right in their own eyes but as a young Minister you need to look at all that foreign [Applause] [Music] gonna preach the gospel to God away from Hashanah you see that we're seeing dangerous.

Sometimes I go to really big conferences all these theologians we're all preaching to one another um sometimes I think we just need to dismiss and go outside and preach the gospel to the people who need it dedicate yourself to the gospel whether you're a preacher or not if you're a woman dedicate yourself to knowing the gospel.

Making the gospel now let me just stop here and tell you something you know what the most unreached people group in the world is just think about it is it in the Middle East manager where is it I'll tell you the most unreached people group in the world are women [Applause] and in the church.

Oftentimes the most neglected people are women what do I mean you may want to get a pencil and paper out and write this down it's very important this will be maybe a shocking Revelation to some of you though women have brains now why do I say that is women are not called to preach theology.

Like a man is called to preach theology as an elder and things like that is but all the theology that a man needs to live for Christ all the truth a man needs if a man needs to study the scriptures a woman needs to study the scripture if a man needs to learn doctrines.

A woman needs to learn Doctrine sometimes men have Bible conferences justification the exaltation of christology women have have a Bible Conference and this is the title if the world gives you lemons learn how to make lemonade what is that.

What is that that that's it's it's degrading women don't need fluff they don't need just silly cliches women need truth they need to go deep and let's be Susan in understanding the gospel and be able to preach and share the gospel with other women to make the gospel now.

To open up the scriptures and give wise counsel to younger women not just stories not just something Grandma used to believe but biblical truth so necessary so when I'm talking about living the gospel and speaking the gospels I'm not just talking about ministers.

I'm talking about every question and I'm not just talking about men and I'm not just talking about adults I'm talking about young people anyone who professes faith in Christ their number one job is to become an expert in the gospel Citrus foreign.

Sunday School scholar biblica Dominica what do most kids get out of Sunday school I mean signs they paint pictures of Noah's Ark it is and when a story has told them about Noah the whole emphasis is on how God saved the animals that's not what the story is about at all the ark is a type of Christ and we are only saved from the wrath of.

God in Christ God's the one who closes the door there is don't give children a bunch of stories even biblical stories unless you're going to properly interpret them let me just use this as an opportunity to teach.

The way most people teach the old testamento they're teaching the Old Testament like esop's fables the Greek esops Fables okay it is fabulous fabulous it was a Greek book Greek stories and they had the the purpose of sharing morality.

That's the way most people teach the Old Testament a bunch of Moral Stories no it's not no nowhere that's what Jesus was doing the 40 days after his resurrection foreign the story of David and Goliath is n't about David and Goliath it's about one greater than David yes the story of Samson I started since soon.

Isn't about getting your hair cut it is about one greater than Samsung Sampson grabbed the gates of a city and carried them up on a hill and threw them down Christ ripped up the gates of hell and threw them down on Calvary but unlike Samson he did not fails the story of Moses when Joshua is fighting Down Below in.

The valley when Moses raises his hands but when Moses gets tired and drops his hands Joshua's getting beat so they bring a rock and set Moses down on it and then someone gets on each side of Moses and lifts up his hands and I've heard preachers say in this way.

We need to help the pastor is that's not what that means you know what it means Moses at that moment was a mediator and when he mediated Joshua had Victory but when he got tired and couldn't intercede anymore the people of God lost the story is about there.

[Applause] so when you're teaching These Old Testament stories [Applause] yes there are Moral Stories that's not the primary purpose morality will not change anyone that's religion the gospel changes.

Let's go on remember he says in verse 15 so for my part I'm eager to preach the gospel to you it is some news happens on the television or you see it on the internet and you run out of your office get on the telephone you can't wait to tell people.

Or sometimes negatively you hear some gossip is and you can't wait to share it but Paul my spoon he said he was eager to preach the gospel I can't wait to share the gospel now let me give you a little insight here this is.
